Commercial Kitchen Extraction

Commercial kitchen extraction not only clears the air of steam and smoke but also eradicates any cooking fumes and vapours, whilst maintaining safe levels of carbon dioxide and other harmful fumes and in some cases introducing a clean air flow. Extraction systems are required by law where gas cooking appliances are used.

Investing in the Right Kitchen Canopy & Extraction System

Commercial kitchen extraction, filters and canopies play a major role in busy professional kitchens. Although required by law where gas appliances are installed, kitchen extraction is recommended for all commercial kitchens, even those that operate electric units.

Kitchen extractors are vital for a number of reasons - removing steam, smoke and cooking fumes while also maintaining safe levels of carbon monoxide and other harmful gases - but can also help to prevent food being infused with the taste of any smoke in the air and prevent any food odours escaping into the front of house areas and therefore to the customers.

Some extraction units, sometimes known as re-circulation units also bring a flow of clean air into the kitchen. Catering areas can get notoriously hot and quality commercial kitchen extraction can help to combat discomfort and make working environments more productive. All extraction canopies are designed to not only create a safer working environment but also a more comfortable one for staff.

When choosing your commercial kitchen extraction system always measure and size the unit you need accurately before purchase. Regulations state that canopies must generally have a minimum overhang of 250mm on each side of the appliance or suite of equipment. The canopy must also be approximately 300mm deeper then the equipment beneath it - be sure to take into account any fittings behind the unit which may increase the overall depth.

With commercial kitchen extraction canopies and filters, with a choice of fan position, size and price range, all from a number of leading brands including Lincat and Parry, we can ensure that the air in your kitchen remains as fresh as the air outside.
