Originating in the 1960s from the need to keep foods hot, Alto-Shaam's Halo Heat technology was developed and debuted. Not satisfied with the original concept Alto-Shaam continued to refine and improve the technology throughout the 70's, experimenting with areas including low temperature, overnight cooking and subsequent holding of foods without any detrimental effects reducing the overall quality of the end result.
Expansion of their range was inevitable with multi-ovens and combi ovens quickly introduced to the market. Continuing to innovate Alto-Shaam also added professional smoker ovens to their portfolio of equipment.
Established in Wisconsin USA by a franchisee call Jerry Maahs the company has continued as a family led business with Jerry's son and daughter now holding president and CEO positions. Continuing the passion from their father, Alto-Shaam remains committed to listening to customer's needs and innovating, researching and developing until excellence is achieved.
